What to expect from gay bars in Brooklyn?

You’ve probably heard that Brooklyn is where the “cool kids” go to have fun, and this statement is most certainly right. Each bar has a different crowd, but in general the Brooklyn queer community is all about self-expression and style.

What is the best gay bar to hang out in Brooklyn?

Metropolitan has been one of our favorite bars in Brooklyn for a while. But it’s worth mentioning the incredible venues House of Yes and 3 Dollar Bill, where alternative artists and drag queens are always serving the performance of their lives. And also the Gen-Z favorites Happyfun Hideaway and The Rosemont.

The most famous party venue in Brooklyn was created in 2007 by Kae Burke and Anya Sapozhnikova in a different address, but still in Brooklyn. The initial project was a collective house for diverse artists to create. In 2008, after a fire accident, they decided to reopen the space in a former ice-house off the Grand Street L train in East Williamsburg. The collective kept growing by welcoming talented performers and creatives.

In 2013, House of Yes closed its doors following a rise in their rent. Six months later, Kae and Anyareopened in the current address in partnership with Justin Ahiyon and Ilan Telmont. House of Yes is considered one of Brooklyn's essential venues, and it forever changed the nightlife in New York City.
