Celebrate Pride With Drag Story Hour in New York City
Drag queens and storytelling are proving to be the perfect match this Pride Month. The Drag Story Hour NYC release their calendar of activities for June, inviting children and adults to step into a world of whimsy and inclusivity.
Led by talented drag performers who serve as magical storytellers, the Drag Story Hour allows children to explore the wonders of storytelling while simultaneously learning important lessons about acceptance and individuality.
"Kids love to dress up, and they have a fluid concept of gender until adults teach them otherwise, so it makes perfect sense that kids love and look up to drag artists," said Rachel, who is the executive director of DQSH NYC, to Gays in Town on December 2021. "It's so important for the next generation of kids to have queer role models and to celebrate differences instead of being afraid or mocking people who are different from them."
