RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14

RuPaul's Drag Race finally announced the cast of Season 14, and one special queen will be representing New York in the competition. Her name is Jasmine Kennedie, and she couldn't have a better reputation in the city. We talked to a few people who worked with her in the past, and they all agree in one thing: Jasmine is one of the "nicest" and "kindest" queens of New York.

Jasmine is also praised for her dancing skills. You can find endless videos on Youtube showing her performances at the Ritz, Pieces, and other New York bars, and you will agree with that statement.

More on NY Drag Queens

As soon as Jasmine was announced as a competitor on Season 14, we did what every drag race fan would do: google her whole life. So, to make it easier for you, here are 10 things we learned about this amazing queen!

She is an athlete!

Years before trying her first wig, Jasmine was really into sports. "I played soccer for eight years, I swam and dove for three. I played lacrosse, did cross country and track as well as cheering–which was my number one passion for three years".

A Whole New World

If you're wondering, the name Jasmine is inspired by Aladdin's princess, and the last name came from Jackie Kennedy. However, that wasn't her first choice. When she first started doing drag, she would go by Jasmine Rikers, inspired by the Rikers Island Jail. "But then, when my mom found out I did drag, she said, "if you're going to be a drag queen. you're gonna be a classy one."

Does she know how to sew?

In New York, Jasmine studied advertising and marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology, but she decided to switch to fashion after a while.

Drag Mother

Jasmine is the drag daughter of Mancie Mandell from New Jersey. On Instagram, Mancie celebrated the Season 14 cast news: "Mama Ru done took my Daughta!! It's been a long journey getting here but now It's game time ! I'm very proud of you".

High Energy

Jasmine became famous in New York City in 2018 after joining the official cast of TURNt, a late-night dance party at the Ritz.

Gen-Z Queen

Like Krystal Versace from Drag Race UK, Jasmine was just a kid when RuPaul's DragRace first premiered. She is 22 years old, making her one of the youngest queens in the competition.

out of drag

Jasmine's family is Polish, and she grew up in Binghamton, NY.

Zodiac sign

Just like Thorgy Thor, Morgan McMichaels, Monique Hart, and Detox, Jasmine is also a Gemini. She was born on May 22.

Como Queen

Cosmo Magazine has invited a selected group of drag queens to create make-up tutorials, and Jasmine is one of them. You can watch the video on Cosmo's Facebook page

A good friend

As we mentioned before, Jasmine is known for being kind to everyone. We found an old Twitter account to prove that she was always an amazing and inspiring person. "U are who u are Don't change for anyone else. If you chnge for othrs, youre not urself. If youre a true frnd accept ur frnd for who thy r."

RuPaul's Drag Race will return for Season 14 with a two-part premiere on Friday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on VH1.
