15 Queer-Owned Stores on Etsy

Gay Agenda

Gay Agenda Book by FoxenTales

There are so many ways to help the LGBTQ+ community, including donating to organizations that fight for gay and trans rights, marching on Pride, and even supporting small LGBTQ-owned businesses

Thanks to platforms like Etsy, today it's possible to find many queer entrepreneurs with online stores, selling creative products all over the world. Accessories, dresses, shirts, decoration items, stickers, candles and many other products are being produced, designed and created by members of the LGBTQ+ community.

According to the US Chamber, there are 1.4 million LGBTQ-owned businesses in the United States, and these companies bring in an estimated $1.7 trillion in revenue. But LGBTQ-owned companies often don’t receive the same resources as other companies.

During the Covid pandemic, nearly one-third of LGBTQ small business owners say they lost 50% of their business. And while 36% of LGBTQ small business owners say there were able to get access to EIDL or PPP loans during the pandemic, nearly the same amount (35%) of those surveyed say they were not able to access EIDL or PPP loans during the pandemic.

LGBTQ-owned businesses are more likely to hire LGBTQ+ people and support the community. That's why when you buy from a queer artist or entrepreneur, you're helping the community. So if you're looking for a special gift or trying to find new artists and online stores, this list is for you.
